Leas-Chathaoirleach Deirdre Donnelly welcomes rural Ireland to the Suburbs of Dublin
Late last year I spoke at the biodiversity event in Marlay Park which was attended by local authority officials and experts from around the country. One of the highlights was the arrival of the Droimeann cattle to nearby Fernhill Park and Gardens. Droimeann Cattle were officially approved a native rare Irish breed status by the United Nations. They are now being recognised officially as a key part of the rich and unique history of Irish cattle breeds. These natural eco-grazers will enhance the biodiversity of our urban parks. I fully support this initiative.
